76th Infantry

76th Infantry, Regimental Color. Known a the "Keystone Zouaves," the 76th regiment was organized during the fall of 1861. The 76th was composed of men from Lawrence, Mercer, Blair, York, Snyder, Bedford, Westmoreland, Indiana, Luzerne, Dauphin, Allegheny, Beaver, and Schuylkill counties. The regiment was mustered out of service on July 18, 1865. The regimental color was probably carried by the 76th late in the war, and nothing more is known of its history.

76th Infantry, First State Color. Known a the "Keystone Zouaves," the 76th regiment was organized during the fall of 1861. The 76th was composed of men from Lawrence, Mercer, Blair, York, Snyder, Bedford, Westmoreland, Indiana, Luzerne, Dauphin, Allegheny, Beaver, and Schuylkill counties, and they received their first state color on November 18, 1861. The flag was retired after October 28, 1864, and the regiment was mustered out of service on July 18, 1865.

76th Infantry, Second State Color. Known a the "Keystone Zouaves," the 76th regiment was organized during the fall of 1861. The 76th was composed of men from Lawrence, Mercer, Blair, York, Snyder, Bedford, Westmoreland, Indiana, Luzerne, Dauphin, Allegheny, Beaver, and Schuylkill counties. The regiment received their second state color sometime between December 1864 and January 15, 1865. The regiment was mustered out of service on July 18, 1865.

The 76th was composed of men from Lawrence, Mercer, Blair, York, Snyder, Bedford, Westmoreland, Indiana, Luzerne, Dauphin, Allegheny, Beaver, and Schuylkill counties. The regiment was mustered out of service on July 18, 1865. The third state color, delivered to the state on July 1, 1865, was apparently never received by the 76th before it mustered out.
